New Look for October

While browsing through Karyns blog I noticed a little banner so I clicked on it...and found a real cool spot to get free backgrounds for my BLOG....so as October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month....I thought this was fitting for a background...is it too much? let me know...

Time Flies!

Okay it has been two days since I posted and I refuse to make it three....lol...we were busy on Sunday and Monday after work, putting the finishing touches on our kitchen makeover....have you ever had an idea in your head of what a certain room should look like....well I sure did...so we went ahead with my ideas and now I am not too sure if we were able to capture what I was wanting.....oh well....I think that now that the room is painted, new floors are down....trim is up and blinds are in place...there are two things still wrong....my kitchen table does not fit my theme and my cupboards really look shabby....I can probably talk Cowboy into a new table or at least a different one...as for the cupboards...not gonna happen in this life time......or at least that is what he told me last night...when I gently suggested it.....better yet his answer was I think you spent your new cupboard budget on rubber stamps....that are still sitting in the boxes that they were delivered in.....(oh crap he noticed....)

So now that I have completed my home renovations with the exception of the infamous stamp room.....our daughter and son-in-law have purchased their first home....and they have asked us to help them do some minor painting jobs and help them lay some new floors....how can you say no......so for the next week or so my afternoons and evenings will be spent in the company of my daughter and sil while we get their home ready for occupancy...this is a bitter sweet time for me...these kids have worked hard to save for this home.....while living on the homestead with us in the old house that is here....I have always had my granddaughter Julie here with me...she has always spent hours with Cowboy and I each day...and now that her little sister is able to walk...she too is here each day for a visit or two...I am going to miss this so much.....

Okay on to todays card:

As my daughter are growing older, getting married and having children, so are all of their friends....I made these two cards to have on hand for baby showers....well wouldn't you know it....both of my daughters friends that were expecting had baby girls this past month....so I used the cards...I am going to make a few more...maybe for boys....lol...this is for my friend Wendy whose daughter is expecting, they have two little girls and are so badly wanting a boy.....maybe I have started some thing....lol....well that is all for today people....have a good one....

World Card Making Day!

Okay so I got up early to make a card for today....I got it done and loaded to the computer and it looks terrible...lol...the card itself looks good in real life...I get so frustrated with programs used to make these cards look good....the card really is not bigger at the top then the bottom....lol...and ribbon well that is another post all in itself..how can one person own so much ribbon and never have the color that you need...lol...or even an embellishment that will match....all supplies today are from Stampin' Up with the exception of the baubles they are from www.stampingbella.com...it is a true fall morning here, with frost on the pumpkins...we are going to tackle the renovation in the last room of the house that needs them and that is the kitchen...a little painting, some new floors and some new touches to the lighting and room decor and I think I will be done....then the big one will start...the reorganizing, painting and floors in my stamp room...woohoo...I can hardly wait.....I will take some before and after pictures of this...lol

Same Thing Only Different!

Well today I have not one but two cards to share with you....I needed to make a blue and purple card for a swap I am in.....so I set off to make two of the same cards one to send and one to keep for just in case....not sure why I keep all these cards...they are starting to take over my life....lol...I completed the first card and got tired of making it so I did not make it's match....I looked at my list of cards that I needed to make and noticed I also was in need of a card made with a "Bella" stamp.....hmmm went my little mind....I can use these papers to make a "Bella" card....so hence the post of the Same Only Different....I am waiting for my camera to download the pictures onto the computer....it is frustrating for me as I have a wonderful camera....but it takes forever to download the pictures onto the laptop...not sure why....okay here it is 12 hours later and I am finally getting this post done...good thing is...it is still Friday.....supplies used for the cards are listed under this.....

Stamps - Reindeer (Inkadinkadoo), Snowbunny (Bella Stamp), swiss dots embossing folder, two edge punches from Martha Stewart, cards stock and ink from Stampin' Up, patterned paper is some I got from My Favorite Things....bling, and pearls were some I had in my stash....

Well that is all for today people....later gators!

Wanted!

Well there are a lot of things I want...lol...but that is not what this post is about...I am actually going to post a card....and it was made with the set "Wanted" from Stampin' Up....all products used to make this card are from Stampin' Up....

You can sure tell fall is here, the mornings are cool, the tree's are all changing and loosing their leaves...I find that I really start stamping more once fall arrives...I am not sure if it is because winter is just around the corner...and I stamp a lot in winter to help pass the time...it does get really cold here....but for today the sun is shining and the wind in not blowing....so for that I am ever grateful.

I choose this card to put on the BLOG today as I think it shows what a true prairie horse is like...free to wonder....the sun setting here really does look that big....lol...

It is getting easier to BLOG....I am not sure if anyone other then Karyn reads it or not...but that is alright....anyway on to more stamping for me today....later gators!

Monday Morning!

Okay where does the time go...it is Monday already....yesterday was a blur around here...Cowboy and I got up early really early and started our fall clean-up around the house and the yard....I have a laundry room off the kitchen and I love it...but it is the catch all....if we do not know where to put it...into the laundry room it goes.....lol...so yesterday at 5:45 a.m. we started the overhaul of the laundry room....I must say I think it is wonderful now that we are done.....teehee...lets see how long it stays this way....we bought shelves and organizers and such....looks good...once the sun was out we moved to the outside.....I really hate this time of year...we put away all the patio furniture.....pulled the last of the flowers.....stacked the wood for spring and just did an complete overhaul of the whole darn yard....about 2:00 in the afternoon the wind picked up and the leaves are now starting to fall from the trees...a sure sign of fall for sure.....both of our daughters and their families came for an early supper with us....we went through some things that we had here that belonged to them....it is time to do that.....I am not sure why this is the year to purge, but that is what is happening around here these past few weeks....our next project for the coming weekend is the reorganizing of my stamp room...yipee.....I have a whole room just for me...it is not very well organized any more.....I am out growing the space and need to better utilize it.....so stay tuned for that....I did work on a page for a Calender swap that I am in and will get it uploaded to the site later tonight....have a good one...later gators!

Posting!

I made a promise to myself yesterday that I would post on this blog each and everyday...well I have no pictures of cards to post again today so I will just type....lol...my online shopping stuff is starting to arrive, I have swaps due and all I can think of is nothing....I can not make my thoughts gather around stamping these days...the sun is shining and fall is in the air here that is for sure...I want to spend time outside before the long dreary winter hits.....all though I love to stamp...I find myself getting caught up in the hype of having to have all the latest stamps released by all the various companies....I get them and then here they sit...they need to be used and loved....lol...I have a goal set out for the next week and that is to make at least one card a day....lets see if I can keep this goal...well later gators!

MOJO Gone and a Spending Spree!

Okay not sure what has possessed me to go shopping... online...to make matters worse...but I have managed to spend the countries annual budget in the last month and have not created anything...oh where oh where has my MoJo gone...oh where oh where can it be...it better get back soon or the Cowboy is going to divorce me.....lol...with life being so unsettled, I tend to spend...gives me the warm fuzzies...teehee....I have managed to buy every spooky house stamp ever made I think in this last round of spending...hmmmmm....best be getting some cards made for on here....I have discovered some new stamp companies and am loving the work the I see the DT's make...so of course I gotta buy the darn stamps.....maybe I should delete Google reader....would make my life so much easier......haha...I could not give up my daily dose of these women...they are my family...my life....oh wait...that is not right......oh well you know what I mean....

Gotta share a funny story about my little grand daughter Julie....well she has made the big excidous to kindergarten...she attends day care in the morning and one of the family must pick her up and take her to school in the afternoon...the grand parents have been taking turns for a week at a time....this was my week to do it....so before I start...you need to know that Julie is the love of my life....I would do anything for this little girl...she is at our home everyday...and I think Cowboy thinks that she belongs to us....lol...oh well onto the story....so on Monday I go off to pick up the little munchkin...she has started a new day care and Ms. Amanda is an amazing daycare provider....so I get to the door and remember I have never been here before.....I see Julie in the background just waiting me for...so anyway Ms. Amanda says to me...I am sorry I have never met you before....do you have any Identification with you.....WHAT I say.....hmmmm...yes I guess I do...off to the car I trot to get my drivers license....back to the door I go....Ms Amanda has a look at the picture and says yes that is you.....then in the background I here this little voice saying with a giggle...no no I do not know her that is not my gramma.....lol....I was absolutely beside myself...then around the corner comes my little Julie laughing and laughing.....she yelled April Fools Gramma....lol...okay a little late....but she was funny.....

Onto one other topic before I go off to do some more online shopping....oops I mean go to work......I have been chosen for a posting on this blog...from my dear Friend Karyn...I will get it posted to here later today.....and will answer all the questions involved......anyway gotta go later gators!

In a Funk

Okay once again I am not very good at Blogging.....yikes...I am in a funk and really need to start working it through with the Cowboy(for those that do not know that is my hubby)...we have some pretty big decisions to make in the next few days.....and no we are not seperating or divorcing...oh well we will get through this as well.....I am not sure how to make my Blog pretty...I want a pretty Blog...one that will have people coming to it....hmmmmm...maybe I need to actually put some of my work on here.....teehee...that would probably help....I have been asked to make some more wedding invitations....another huge order.....have not said yes nor have I said no.....I need to see the template before I make the decision....it is cold and dreary here today...temps are not warm, nor is it warming up here much through the day...actually it is driving me crazy to see the end of the summer already...Cowboy is outside doing some winterizing to the pool right now....we did not plant a big garden this year so there is not much left to take out...we really downsized everything this year....good news is, my son and his family are in Manitoba as I write this and will be here at my home for the next five days...oh how I love these visits...although a little crazy when we are all here together I still love it non the less.....well I guess I best be going and seeing what needs to be done before all the family arrives.......later gators!

A Zindorff Wanabee....

Okay I have found the most wonderful blog.....it is produced by Michelle Zindorff....hopefully I have spelled that right.....she does the most amazing work with brayers, sponges and inks....I have tried to follow her tutorials and I hope that I have at least given it a good reproduction....I have tried several of her cards, but decided to share this one with you as it will soon be fall and winter in our neck of the woods....and with this time of the year....our roads in the country look so forlorn and dissolute.....although very picturesque....(is that how you spell it....)so when I saw this card I automatically thought of a road that my hubby and I used to go down to check on the crops.....so I tried to reproduce it the best I could......this is the card size...but the Cowboy and I are going to redo our bedroom this coming week, and I am going to try and reproduce this card on an 8.5x11 piece of card stock and have it framed....wish me luck I am going to need it....
All products used are Stampin Up....I followed the tutorial that can be found here www.zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com Have a look at here work...it is amazing....

Well it is time to say later gators.....

Cards for the VC__Rocks Group

I have been fortunate to be part of a very busy and active group known as VC_Rocks on Yahoo....this is a group of ladies that get together for only 4-5 months a year and celebrate a virtual Stamping convention.....all swaps are Stampin' Up products only and are amazing in the quality that you receive back....this group will be closing down again for the year within a month....I am so going to miss them as it is a very busy and lively group...I only joined 5 swaps this year so over the next few days I will post the cards that I made for the swaps.....todays card was made for the "Thinking of Kids" swap....we were to make any card that was good for giving to a child.....I only have one grandson, so my male kid stamps are limited...but I knew I wanted to make a card with this set.....I am slowly trying to make some headway in my crafting space...I do not know how come this room gets so darn messy.....I am the only one that stamps in the family.....lol....
