ALL IN!

Well I have been away for a few days again, but I have been creating....each year for approximately 4 months there is a Yahoo Group called VC_Rocks and it is open for business....it is a really busy, fun-filled group...that swaps only Stampin' Up swaps....some of the ladies are SU demo's, but for the most part the group is made up of just customers.....there are swaps for many different themes....I have chosen to do 6 swaps this year, that is a total of 66 cards that must be made and mailed by the 27th of June....so lets just say I have been busy.....

The first card that I am wanting to show is you, is one which I made for a swap called Game Time....we had to use a real game piece on the card...so off to town I went today to try and find some really small playing cards and the poker chips that you see on the card....we must of went to 10 different places in town and could not find one single package of mini playing cards....lol...so I came home and cut and embellished all 48 little pieces of paper that I would need to make the cards that are on the card.....the stamp set is from Stampin Up and is called Game Night...the paper is also from SU and is called Jackpot....it is a mix of really nice game themed papers that can be used for many different game ideas....the card stock is also from SU

The card is really heavy as a result of adding the poker chip to it....could not find plastic chips so had to buy clay chips and darn are they ever heavy.....

The inside of the card was finished by adding a layer of white cardstock and the layering on black and a piece of coordinating paper from the Jackpot paper line.....this card was easy enough to do once I got the first one completed....but doing 12 of them took some time....lol...I am going to have to take easier layouts for the rest of the card swaps that I need to complete....lol

I am hoping that this blog entry works right....I have never tried to add two photo's before...so heres hoping....

Praying for You!

Good Morning!

Here is another card made with the Thoughts and Prayers stamp set from SU...and Basic Grey Wisteria paper.....I am loving both of these products right now....use them on everything it seems.....another great product that I have purchased in the last month or so is Perfect Paper Panels from MFT....these are pieces of white card stock cut to the size of an A2 card front.....now here is where they are different from most papers....they are heavy....a lot heavier then my 110 pound card stock that I normally use....the weight of this paper makes it especially good for coloring with Copics, or water coloring....the feel and workability of this paper is amazing.....albeit a little expensive...I wish they sold it in full sheets...I would be all over this like ink on paper....lol...

I made this card for a friend of ours that is in the hospital recuperating from a stroke....so I tried to keep away from frills and girly extras on the card....I think I succeeded by suing tones of purple, grey and brown....

It is foggy today I can hardly see across the yard site right now....fog usually means a fair day here....it was a perfect spring day yesterday....sun was shining and the birds were singing.....

Well you know it is that time...gotta run....

A Couple of Cards

WOW how do these women that BLOG everyday, come up with such fun titles for their BLOGS?

The title of my post is pretty self-explanatory....just a couple of cards....haha...actualy they are part of the series of rub-on cards I made with the rub-on's from SU.....these are so easy to use...and they actually look like they have been stamped (in real life)

I made the whole series...nine I think is just a little over an hour....and had such fun doing so.....

I have a late night tonight so there will be no stamping for me today....that makes me sad...as I have actually been trying to do some type of creating each day...it makes me feel so much better....I have a few more cards ready for posting and then I need to buckle down and get another batch saved and edited.....

Yesterday was a rainy dreary day here...the rain was much needed, but still made it seem so gloomy...today is starting off with sunshine and blue skies.....the week long forecast is calling for temps in and around the 70's....that I can handle....no garden for me this year....this makes me have mixed emotions....this is the first time in 15 years that I have not planted a garden....but with us moving...there is no need to do so.....still have not really looked at many homes....I have a home in mind that I would love to have....and when the time comes to purchase one....if it is still available.....then I think that will be the one we choose.....

Well it is that time of day again....need to get ready for work.....see you all tomorrow...

Thinking Of You!

This card is probably one of my favorites that I have put together over the last couple of weeks....so plain and simple to do...nothing fancy...but I think it says it all...I love the papers from Basic Grey and have used a lot of them on my cards lately...the tree and sentiment stamp are from SU.....another set that I am loving...so much you can do with this set....

I got a big dent made in the wedding invites yesterday...should be ready to mail to them by the weekend.....it was a lot of work....but so worth it....I guess I could have asked for help to make them but did not.....

Well to my American friends have a great memorials day...to my Canadian friends have a great day at work.....lol

Gotta run as I am running late as usual....

A Wedding!

I am getting ready to complete the wedding invitations for my son and soon to be daughter-in-law....this brings back so many memories for me....my son always the strong one...and never really gave me any problems....he was very much into football...and I could always find him either at the football field...watching football...or hanging with his football buds....he is getting married in November of this year and he will be 29 when he takes his vow.....

It just seems like yesterday that he was born all 10 pounds of him.....yep....he was always a goer...and kept me on his toes...he was so proud to be a big brother as each of his sisters were born....although he was not sure of Christine....lol...when I was pregnant for the 3rd time...he told me he was going to have another sister and she was going to be named Tiffany....so that is what it was in the end....he and his sisters have a special bond and it continues to grow as they grow into wonderful adults....

As young children, I divorced the children's father...I know it was hard on my son....and I allowed him to spend as much time as he wanted with his dad....he often lived with him for a school year at a time....although this was hard on me...it allowed a special bond to be built between him and his dad....

Michael grew up so fast and the years speed on.....he went to work in Churchill one summer and met a girl who is now going to be his wife...I remember when he brought Brenda home for the first time....it is a wonder she ever came back....lol...I invited family and friends to come and meet her...cause I just new in my heart she was the one...

Brenda joined Michael here in the south as they started to make a life together....but in her heart she was homesick....Michael sent her home to be with her family and joined her a couple of months later.....to this couple two beautiful little girls were born, making their family a family of three children.....Brenda has a wonderful son named Rayn....he looks so much like Michael did when he was young it is uncanny....Michael has accepted Rayn as one of his own....I am so proud of my son....even if I do not tell him very often.....

So now they are going to take the next step in their life and for this I am so grateful.....

Mike and Brenda I love you two so much and am so proud of what you have accomplished so far, I look so forward to helping you along this journey as we plan and prepare for your special day.....

Love Mom xoxoxoxo

Monkey See Monkey Do!

Okay I could not come up with a name for my posting today....so this is the first thing that came to mind....lol...I have oodles and oodles of stamps and digi images....but for some reason I have been on a rub-on kick for a week or so now....the rub-ons that you can buy now are so easy to you...and once placed on the cardstock, you can not tell they are there....it either looks like a stamped image or patterned paper...once I get an idea in my head for the card....it only takes minutes to put them together....

This is a card I made for grand daughter Julie...she needed one for a birthday that she was invited to....so easy to make and such fun colors....all of the paper and rub-ons are from the Safari Kids DCWV line...I found it at Michael's one day while I was snooping around....teehee....this card is done as a 6x6 card....and the paper is so shiny and sparkly in real life....it is full of both male and female appropriate papers, some are shiny, some are sparkly and some are plain....all following the safari theme....I have some stamps from various companies and I will be combining them to make some card in the coming week....my goal is to use the whole matstack of paper...goodness know that the grandbabies get invited to enough birthday's.....they can use them.....

Well it is Saturday today and the sun is shining....cowboy is outside mowing the lawn so that we maybe able to enjoy the day together....he is working tomorrow...so my goal for tomorrow is to get my son's wedding invitations completed....lots of printing and cutting on them....not too much stamping though....I will share them when I am given permission to do so....lol...

I would love to start a business making wedding invites and all things needed for a wedding...I guess I need to advertise and see if I get any interest....hahaha

Inchin' Along to Say Hello!

How stinkin' cute is the caterpillar...I have had him for ages and ages....it was a stamp that I bought from Gina K Designs....it was when she sold most of her stamps individually...I think I may have put ink on him once before....lol...he is so cute....

These little scrapplings were made for another swap that I participated in.....these are just little cards....haha....as you can tell the theme for this month was Thinking of You......these are fun to make, although I do tend to have problems when it comes to these smaller size canvases.....

After spending many many hours in this here craft room cleaning, sorting and re-arranging...I made a decision to start using up some of these supplies that I have here.....I need to quit my job and just stay home and create for 24-7 before I will ever make a dent in this huge pile of supplies....oh why oh why do I hoard.....

I have been busy creating again each evening, trying to get cards stockpiles for various events that are coming up in my life shortly....and to also have something to post on here.....I am going to go and check out camera's this weekend....maybe I will get a new one...we shall see.....

Well it is that time of day again.....must get ready for work!

SU and Rub-Ons!

WOW how easy these cards were to make....I needed some RAKS and was not sure what I was going to do...sat down at my desk and had a look around the room....my eyes landed on these wonderful and cute rub-ons from Stampin' Up.....now what to do....nothing fancy as the rub-ons are so darn cute all by themselves.....got out some white paper, cut it to card sizes and started to use the rub-ons....they go on so easy and are so nice to work with...I made a series of these cards so for the next day or so...I will be posting them to my blog.....what do you think?

The sun is finally shining here this morning, but the temps are below freezing....will spring ever arrive to out neck of the world....the yard work needs to be done...but it is so darn cold and the wind never stops......maybe this weekend it will get better....we shall see....

Well better be off to get ready for work!

A Wondering Mind!

This card was really quite fun to make...it is for a swap that I am in...although I do not do many swaps any more....I did want to join this one as I purchased this set from Stampin' Up and had not put ink to it....lol....story of my life these days.....I stamped the image on white card stock that I have purchased from MFT....colored it with Copic Markers....the paper I used was from the Basic Grey Line called Lime Rickey.....I love this paper, so bright and colorful....the rest of the card is pretty self explanatory....lol....

I am not sure why I find this image so amusing, I just do...teehee.....

Well today is not promising to be very nice, we woke to rain...we have not had much of a spring here of of yet...we had a rotten rotten winter and spring is not looking much better,...the long range forecast is calling for hot humid weather starting in June......hot I can handle....humid ussualy means rain....lol....

Well I best be getting off here to get ready for work....need to work to feed the stamping addiction....lol

Have a great day!

Back Again! Card to Share

Good Day to all that find their way to my BLOG...it is a holiday here is Canada today, so that means a day all to myself to stamp.....

This card is one that I have made for a swap that I am in....the only sad thing about this card, is that you can not tell that is has a very light green paper on it....so pretty in real life....I could not capture the color, no matter what I tried to do....

Also there is absolutely no stamping on this card....I was busy cleaning and organizing my stamping area and came across these wonderful rub-ons from Stampin' Up that I have had forever.....so I decided to finally put them to use.....the card is very pretty to see in real life......

Products that I used are as follows"

Rub-ons - Stampin" Up
Papers - Light Green from Basic Grey, the white and black are from Stampin' Up
Punch - Martha Stewart

I am loving all the new products that I have purchased over the past few months...and have been busy making cards with them all....I think I am good to go for posting on the Blog for another week.....
