First Christmas Card for 2009

Well as you can see there is a little bit too much going on....I had a vision for this card....lol....NOT!!!!

I wanted to use up some of my Christmas paper scraps from last year....so I quilted the top note die....and then it went from bad to worse....haha...too many colors and patterns for my liking...but I decided to post the card anyways as a reminder to myself.....

The Santa image is actually pop dotted and it rather high of the paper...but you can not see it in this photo....

Well it is that last day of the last long weekend of the summer...the weather has been wonderful for the past two weeks....it is still very warm today...but cloudy and windy...weather forecasters are calling for severe thunderstorms today.....it will not be long and the leaves will have all turned and winter will be upon us here in my part of the world.....

Only 10 more weeks until my son gets married...WOW has time flown by....then Christmas...still a millions things to plan for that as well....I seem to make up things to worry about these days....maybe not enough crafting going on in my craft area.....

A Birthday Card

I have 7 grand children and one of the promises I made to myself this past year, was to start making up birthday cards to have on hand for my grandchildren to use when they are invited to birthday parties....so the other night I sat coloring images....and this is one of the images that I colored....I went back to this image last night...and completed this card...very simple layout....I used some of my Basic Grey Paper and some flowers from my huge stash(let me tell you, I will be 150 years old and will never be able to use all these darn flowers up)...

Card is pretty simple, but good enough for a child's birthday.....

Well it is Saturday the last on of August 2009....and how the summer has flown by here....you can see fall approaching by the changing in the colors of the tree's....it is starting to be cool in the mornings as well....but this leads to fall....my favorite time of the year.....

Well have a great day!

New Stamps Arrived...So Excited!

I stopped off at the mailbox today on my way home from work....and was totally excited to see a parcel from Scent My Cards today....I have been waiting for what seems likes months ( but really only a week or so) for these super cute stamps to arrive.....I did not even wait till I got home to open the package to have a look see at my newest possesions....lol....these cards were more then what I was expecting....the images are large and very easy to color and work with....I just new that I needed to use them as soon as I arrived home.....on my short drive from the mailbox....I visioned this card....although I have featured a card very similar to this one on my blog before.....this card is just so darn cute and bright in real life....

I stamped the margarita glass on white card stock and colored in the drink....adding in a little grey to the bottom of the glass....I then cut out the glass and glued some ultra shiny glitter around the rim to represent the sugar....not sure if I really captured the bling of the sugar......I used pop dots to raise the glass image off the card front...the layer that the glass is on is a combination of two of the stamps from the set...some rubons, and some coloring that I did....

Ladies if you have not already done so you need to buy these wonderful stamps....you will not be disappointed....thanks Cindy for the details and the hard work that went into these stamp sets....you will all be seeing more cards made with these sets......oh yes the stamps can be found here: www.stampingscrapping.com

Friendship Frame

Here is another one of the frames that I made a while back...they are very hard to photograph for some reason...I must have taken about 20 pictures before I got one that I could use...and this is after I used a photo editing program....I made this frame for a friend of mine who has been my friend for over 18 years....darn how time flies...we were single mom's both with three children to raise....and darn did we have some good times back them....never had a lot of money...but we sure could have fun....we continue to be very close today as do our children...

I found these frames at Michael's for $1.50 each and the paint for $1.00 a bottle....a pretty cheap gift if you ask me....the sentiment was stamp and placed where a picture should go.....the white flower on the side is a combination of a stamp and a rub-on from Basic Grey....

Well I need to make Cowboy some supper, so I better be getting at it!

Bradi Turned Two

Wow how time flies...and beautiful babies grow up to be beautiful little princess's....it seems like just yesterday that Bradi was born....waited for days for her....and now she is two.....

This is the card I made for her birthday....I wanted something that said girl....I hoped I achieved that with this card...each of the layers on the card are popped up to give the card some dimension....took me forever to make it....lol

Bradi had a huge birthday party on Sunday and then the whole family came out to our home last night and Bradi and I shared a birthday supper and cake with the family....such a good time....she is sure growing up and becoming very independent....and talk like a trooper.....

It is the warmest day of the summer today temps were in the high 30"s or around 88 degree's and that was not including the humidex....it is supposed to stay this way for a few more days....not used to it.....

Well I best be getting the supper dishes done!

Must be Summer!

Here is another sweet little yellow card that I made for a friend to give to her great niece for her 7th birthday...the party will be held at one of our local resort areas, where her grandparents have a cottage....

It is so fun to be finally be able to stamp just for fun, and now that I am really learning how to use the Copics, it makes using and coloring these images so much fun.

This is another image from ATS....love the summer images that Christine brought out this year....I bought these images in June and am finally starting to use them.....

I am on a self-budgeted lack of purchasing new supplies(did that make sense)....lol...Trev and I have a Mexican holiday planned for this coming winter...and I need to stop spending....also our son is getting married in November and a new grand baby on her way....all things that are going to require great gobs of money in the near future....so I decided to really start using up what I have here....

So I hope you enjoy my card!

A Bright Sunshine Hello

Well I have been busy once again making some cards...not sure what I am going to do with them now that they are made...I guess I will post them to my BLOG...I had thought that I would maybe try out of a design team...but the one I was looking at required a one year commitment...hmmmm....I thought I am not sure I can commit for a year...so instead of keeping these little babies under wrap...I thought I would just post them...

This little bundle of sunshine is a Digi download from ATS...love her stamps....it was just calling me to make a bright and sunshiny card....so hence the yellow card that I came up with...

"PHOTO REMOVED FOR SUBMISSION"

I used my copic markers to color in the image...it was so fun to do...I used a white gel pen to give the bikini the polka dots that I needed to finish the inside of the card.....

I used pieces of the same paper from the card front to complete the inside....I just love this saying...it is one of AmyR's stamps that are also available at ATS...all in all I felt wonderful once this card was complete...really made me feel happy....

I think I may drop this card into the mail so that my grand daughter may have some happy mail....

Bradi's Birthday Invites

Well our grand daughter is turning two soon and her mom asked me to make some invitations for the party...well anyone that knows me well....knows how many stamps I own....I asked my daughter what is the theme...and she replied Princess....well this is the best that I could do in the Princess theme for stamps....

Pretty basic stamps....I stamped the image and colored it with some Copic markers...then used some Nestabilities to cut both the white and pink layers....I then punched some holes on each side and threaded the ribbon through the back...popped the layers with some pop dots and layered it onto the DSP...pretty simple...added the flowers for a little bit of bling....the inside I generated on the computer and layered it onto the brown paper....finished it off with a little bling on the stamped image.....

All in all I am happy with the finished product.....hope the children that are receiving them will be happy to get a little bit of happy mail....

Bradi's birthday is on August 10...but we are anxiously waiting the birth of her baby sister....seems to be taking so long.....my daughter Christine is so uncomfortable....and the Dr. says it will be any day now.....I am so happy to be adding another grand child to our mix...this one will make it number 7....hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Fisherman Friend

Card Removed for a time being....will be back.....

I must have taken 20 pictures of this card and for some reason the flash wanted to go off for this picture, I took this the same day that I took the last 4 cards that I have shown, and this is the only one that required the flash....yikes....it is so bright and cheery in real life...but I could not capture that in this picture.....this is the last of the cards I made last weekend so I guess that means I need to get busy again....I have had so much fun coloring all of these images...I have another big batch ready to make into cards...I think my coloring is starting to get a little better.....I do not feel like a grade school student anymore......

I made this card for my hubby who went fishing for the first time in his life a month or so ago and caught his first fish.....lol....he was so proud and has in fact decided that maybe he likes fishing...who would have thought...a farm boy on the water....hmmmmmmmm.....

Once again today it is rainy and over cast......I NEED sunshine.....

Well I got a million little things to do today as I am having my grand baby Julie over for a sleepover tonight....she just loves to craft and color and all things neat....so I need to get things organized so that we may have some fun time...

A Bella for Me a Bella For You!

I belong to several yahoo groups that are stamping related....and one of them is predominantly for Bella stamps...last month there was a swap of images and I received this cute little image in the swap package....isn't she cute and a little wild....this is another of the images that I colored first and then had to match paper and flowers....not much really to say about the card....so bright in real life....just a little touch of summer on this dull cloudy day today....

Well it is day three of my new job...and I have to say I think I have found my home...or place in life...it is so nice to be able to go to work with a smile upon my face....I have been looking for this type of environment for the last few years...good old family owned business, where everyone has a stake in it and they make it work....does that make sense...I just seem to fit in....family owned business values seems to be the key....

Well I have completed the wedding invitations for my son and soon to be daughter in law and will get them in the mail to them tomorrow....wow it will not be long and the big day will be upon us...so much planning to do before then though....

Well have a great day!

Some Beach Fun

Isn't he just the cutest little boy you have ever seen? I had so much fun making this card...this is a Digi Image that I got at AllThatScraps....she has the neatest images for coloring...such talent in the drawing department as well...these images come in both digi and rubber...so whatever you choice in stamping is...she has it all...

I started this card by just coloring the image...then I went from there...I added the kraft cardstock on the bottom and tried to layer it to look like sand....I popped the sentiment up with popdots and left a raised area in the centre of it...all in all I am very happy with this card....not sure who I am going to send it to yet.

Well I am off to work....

A Froggy Morning To You All!

The following card is one that I made for a very special friend who has been in the hospital since January 17, 2009....he and his wife(a very special person in my life) went to Arizona for 6 weeks last December and the morning after they arrived home....Mr. D....had a massive stroke.....for the last 5 months he has worked diligently with the physio department was just starting to be able to walk a little on his own....well he graduated to a leg brace and a cane...and low and behold...he fell two weeks ago and broke a hip....so his stay in the hospital will now be a little longer then thought....I always call him my little french frog....so hence the card for today...

I actually made two different cards using this same sketch....(I will post the second one later in the week)....I have had this DSP paper in my stash for over a year and decided yesterday was the day to use it....lol...I am learning to use my copics so I have been coloring anything and everything that I can get ahold of.....this was the first image that I colored the other day when I sat down to really use my markers....not bad for my real first attemp at shading and such....although the camera is not kind to our mistakes......

Over all a pretty simple card to do....and I like the way it turned out.....

June 23, 2009, the day I start another new job.....I worked forever like 18 years in my first profession, took an early leave from it...and for the last three years have had three jobs and a business...I am hoping that this new job is the one I am looking for...or maybe I am looking to retire...hmmmmmmmm...just need Cowboy to see it my way...hahaha....wish me luck....I am a little nervous...

AMYRS70 Sketch Rendition!

Well for a while now I made myself a promise that I would eventually start participating in Sketch challenges that are posted to the various blogs that I follow...so this past weekend I spend hours learning to use my Copics....it was fun and I felt like a child again learning to color.....while looking though my looooooooong list of stamping blogs that I follow...I noticed that Amy Rysavy had a Sketch challenge posted.....I thought hmmmmmmmmmm...I can do this one....so here is my rendition of her AMYRS70 posting..

Photo Removed for DT Call

I had such a great time coloring this image...I am not sure why I went with the blue and yellow....just did...although Amy's card is originally done as a regular A2 card...I could not get my image to fit properly...so I went with a 5x5 size card....the yellow and designer paper is from the Lime Rickey collection from Basic Grey....(Oh yeah I am still loving it) the card stock used is from stamping up, I used a border punch from the Martha Stewart line (although it is hard to see it)...as for the prima's....I did not have the right colors so I just used my Copics to color them to match...such a bright pretty card in real life.....so that is my submission for today....

Keep checking back this week as I have been busy again....I have Bella's and Digi Image cards and some more of these cute little stamps oh yeah and a couple of ATS images....I have had such a great time making some cards once again.....hope you enjoy!

This is a card that I made for a swap called Ebony and Ivory....the picture does not do this card any justice....I have added some glitter to the x and o pattern board, which you can not see....the black corner and the I love u is popped up with pop dots.....so pretty in real life....

So I have one more swap to finish for the VC_Rocks group for this year and then I can make some cards for fun....

GOD IS GREAT...ALL THE TIME!

This is a card that I have had in my head for quite some time now....I love this Basic Grey Paper and have wanted to do something with the butterfly pages that were in the package....I was sitting here in my little domain and looking around tonight for something to do...my eyes fell on this package of paper and hmmmmm...the rest they say is history or in this case a card....I hope that I was able to capture the true rich colors that are found in this paper....as they are truly bright.....

When Digiments came out with this sentiment, for everyone to use for their challenge...I just knew that I had to make a card for my dear kind friend...who is always telling me..."God is Great"...to which I answer "all the time"....so I just new that I would use this to make her card....

So lets just call this card...When Basic Grey meets Digiments.....I love the these little downloadable sentiments that she has produced...the fonts that were used are amazing...and I am looking forward to this months release...a girl can never have too many sentiments....rofl...

This is the whole card that I made with all the elements in place...I just love the way that the butterflies look like they are moving, when you can see the card in real life.....(I did notice though that I need to replace my blade in my cutter, I can see rough edges on the paper)....I am pleased with the way this card turned out....

Today was the second day of rain in a row that we have had here...weather man is saying two more day of it yet to come...then I hope we get some heat....it is not really warm here nor has it been....

Well you know what is coming next.....

Digiments Challenge!

Good day...finally getting around to getting a post on here once again...this is the first in a series of photo frames that I have been working on....one day while Blog Surfing...I found my way to the a site called Digiments the website can be found here www.digiments.com .....well I was so impressed with the sentiments that were created...I purchased all of the ones that were offered...while looking around her site I found that there were a few free offers on there as well....but the free ones were to be used in a challenge...I downloaded the free ones and finally had some time today to play with one of them.....I made this frame with a $1.50 frame that I found at Michael's...painted it with black Acrylic paint.....the white swirl in the top corner is actually a rub-on from Basic Grey that I have had in my supplies for awhile now....the white and black flower in the bottom corner was made using the new Stampin' Up Flower die.....took about 1/2 hour to complete this little gem....and most of that time was waiting for the paint to be dry enough....I can not capture the glitter of the flowers...they are so sparkly in real life......

One of the things to do for this challenge was to link this picture with Mr. Linky....hmmmmm....well I guess I better be learning to do that.....so off I am to teach myself another lesson in Blogging...

Hope you have enjoyed this little gem....I made 4 of them in total and will be sharing more throughout the coming week.

No Card...Just Some Ramblings!

Well I do not have any card for today....I am slowing down a little I think...but I did get some really exciting new rubber and digi's this past week....I need to sit and make myself a list of what it is I want to make and accomplish with this last round of purchases...I seem to be caught up in the cycle of having to have...but never seem to use....lol...I know that there are lots of us out there like that..

I have a couple new BLINKIES at the bottom of this BLOG....I have a couple more to add, but I do not know how to maneuver around this BLOG....I want to be able to put the BLINKIES on the side.....maybe I am going to have to pay someone to fix up this BLOG for me.....

Well I have some cards to start so that I can meet my commitment for the VC_Rocks group for this year and then I can get onto creating with these new purchases....

ALL IN!

Well I have been away for a few days again, but I have been creating....each year for approximately 4 months there is a Yahoo Group called VC_Rocks and it is open for business....it is a really busy, fun-filled group...that swaps only Stampin' Up swaps....some of the ladies are SU demo's, but for the most part the group is made up of just customers.....there are swaps for many different themes....I have chosen to do 6 swaps this year, that is a total of 66 cards that must be made and mailed by the 27th of June....so lets just say I have been busy.....

The first card that I am wanting to show is you, is one which I made for a swap called Game Time....we had to use a real game piece on the card...so off to town I went today to try and find some really small playing cards and the poker chips that you see on the card....we must of went to 10 different places in town and could not find one single package of mini playing cards....lol...so I came home and cut and embellished all 48 little pieces of paper that I would need to make the cards that are on the card.....the stamp set is from Stampin Up and is called Game Night...the paper is also from SU and is called Jackpot....it is a mix of really nice game themed papers that can be used for many different game ideas....the card stock is also from SU

The card is really heavy as a result of adding the poker chip to it....could not find plastic chips so had to buy clay chips and darn are they ever heavy.....

The inside of the card was finished by adding a layer of white cardstock and the layering on black and a piece of coordinating paper from the Jackpot paper line.....this card was easy enough to do once I got the first one completed....but doing 12 of them took some time....lol...I am going to have to take easier layouts for the rest of the card swaps that I need to complete....lol

I am hoping that this blog entry works right....I have never tried to add two photo's before...so heres hoping....

Praying for You!

Good Morning!

Here is another card made with the Thoughts and Prayers stamp set from SU...and Basic Grey Wisteria paper.....I am loving both of these products right now....use them on everything it seems.....another great product that I have purchased in the last month or so is Perfect Paper Panels from MFT....these are pieces of white card stock cut to the size of an A2 card front.....now here is where they are different from most papers....they are heavy....a lot heavier then my 110 pound card stock that I normally use....the weight of this paper makes it especially good for coloring with Copics, or water coloring....the feel and workability of this paper is amazing.....albeit a little expensive...I wish they sold it in full sheets...I would be all over this like ink on paper....lol...

I made this card for a friend of ours that is in the hospital recuperating from a stroke....so I tried to keep away from frills and girly extras on the card....I think I succeeded by suing tones of purple, grey and brown....

It is foggy today I can hardly see across the yard site right now....fog usually means a fair day here....it was a perfect spring day yesterday....sun was shining and the birds were singing.....

Well you know it is that time...gotta run....

A Couple of Cards

WOW how do these women that BLOG everyday, come up with such fun titles for their BLOGS?

The title of my post is pretty self-explanatory....just a couple of cards....haha...actualy they are part of the series of rub-on cards I made with the rub-on's from SU.....these are so easy to use...and they actually look like they have been stamped (in real life)

I made the whole series...nine I think is just a little over an hour....and had such fun doing so.....

I have a late night tonight so there will be no stamping for me today....that makes me sad...as I have actually been trying to do some type of creating each day...it makes me feel so much better....I have a few more cards ready for posting and then I need to buckle down and get another batch saved and edited.....

Yesterday was a rainy dreary day here...the rain was much needed, but still made it seem so gloomy...today is starting off with sunshine and blue skies.....the week long forecast is calling for temps in and around the 70's....that I can handle....no garden for me this year....this makes me have mixed emotions....this is the first time in 15 years that I have not planted a garden....but with us moving...there is no need to do so.....still have not really looked at many homes....I have a home in mind that I would love to have....and when the time comes to purchase one....if it is still available.....then I think that will be the one we choose.....

Well it is that time of day again....need to get ready for work.....see you all tomorrow...

Thinking Of You!

This card is probably one of my favorites that I have put together over the last couple of weeks....so plain and simple to do...nothing fancy...but I think it says it all...I love the papers from Basic Grey and have used a lot of them on my cards lately...the tree and sentiment stamp are from SU.....another set that I am loving...so much you can do with this set....

I got a big dent made in the wedding invites yesterday...should be ready to mail to them by the weekend.....it was a lot of work....but so worth it....I guess I could have asked for help to make them but did not.....

Well to my American friends have a great memorials day...to my Canadian friends have a great day at work.....lol

A Wedding!

I am getting ready to complete the wedding invitations for my son and soon to be daughter-in-law....this brings back so many memories for me....my son always the strong one...and never really gave me any problems....he was very much into football...and I could always find him either at the football field...watching football...or hanging with his football buds....he is getting married in November of this year and he will be 29 when he takes his vow.....

It just seems like yesterday that he was born all 10 pounds of him.....yep....he was always a goer...and kept me on his toes...he was so proud to be a big brother as each of his sisters were born....although he was not sure of Christine....lol...when I was pregnant for the 3rd time...he told me he was going to have another sister and she was going to be named Tiffany....so that is what it was in the end....he and his sisters have a special bond and it continues to grow as they grow into wonderful adults....

As young children, I divorced the children's father...I know it was hard on my son....and I allowed him to spend as much time as he wanted with his dad....he often lived with him for a school year at a time....although this was hard on me...it allowed a special bond to be built between him and his dad....

Michael grew up so fast and the years speed on.....he went to work in Churchill one summer and met a girl who is now going to be his wife...I remember when he brought Brenda home for the first time....it is a wonder she ever came back....lol...I invited family and friends to come and meet her...cause I just new in my heart she was the one...

Brenda joined Michael here in the south as they started to make a life together....but in her heart she was homesick....Michael sent her home to be with her family and joined her a couple of months later.....to this couple two beautiful little girls were born, making their family a family of three children.....Brenda has a wonderful son named Rayn....he looks so much like Michael did when he was young it is uncanny....Michael has accepted Rayn as one of his own....I am so proud of my son....even if I do not tell him very often.....

So now they are going to take the next step in their life and for this I am so grateful.....

Mike and Brenda I love you two so much and am so proud of what you have accomplished so far, I look so forward to helping you along this journey as we plan and prepare for your special day.....

Monkey See Monkey Do!

Okay I could not come up with a name for my posting today....so this is the first thing that came to mind....lol...I have oodles and oodles of stamps and digi images....but for some reason I have been on a rub-on kick for a week or so now....the rub-ons that you can buy now are so easy to you...and once placed on the cardstock, you can not tell they are there....it either looks like a stamped image or patterned paper...once I get an idea in my head for the card....it only takes minutes to put them together....

This is a card I made for grand daughter Julie...she needed one for a birthday that she was invited to....so easy to make and such fun colors....all of the paper and rub-ons are from the Safari Kids DCWV line...I found it at Michael's one day while I was snooping around....teehee....this card is done as a 6x6 card....and the paper is so shiny and sparkly in real life....it is full of both male and female appropriate papers, some are shiny, some are sparkly and some are plain....all following the safari theme....I have some stamps from various companies and I will be combining them to make some card in the coming week....my goal is to use the whole matstack of paper...goodness know that the grandbabies get invited to enough birthday's.....they can use them.....

Well it is Saturday today and the sun is shining....cowboy is outside mowing the lawn so that we maybe able to enjoy the day together....he is working tomorrow...so my goal for tomorrow is to get my son's wedding invitations completed....lots of printing and cutting on them....not too much stamping though....I will share them when I am given permission to do so....lol...

I would love to start a business making wedding invites and all things needed for a wedding...I guess I need to advertise and see if I get any interest....hahaha

Inchin' Along to Say Hello!

How stinkin' cute is the caterpillar...I have had him for ages and ages....it was a stamp that I bought from Gina K Designs....it was when she sold most of her stamps individually...I think I may have put ink on him once before....lol...he is so cute....

These little scrapplings were made for another swap that I participated in.....these are just little cards....haha....as you can tell the theme for this month was Thinking of You......these are fun to make, although I do tend to have problems when it comes to these smaller size canvases.....

After spending many many hours in this here craft room cleaning, sorting and re-arranging...I made a decision to start using up some of these supplies that I have here.....I need to quit my job and just stay home and create for 24-7 before I will ever make a dent in this huge pile of supplies....oh why oh why do I hoard.....

I have been busy creating again each evening, trying to get cards stockpiles for various events that are coming up in my life shortly....and to also have something to post on here.....I am going to go and check out camera's this weekend....maybe I will get a new one...we shall see.....

Well it is that time of day again.....must get ready for work!

SU and Rub-Ons!

WOW how easy these cards were to make....I needed some RAKS and was not sure what I was going to do...sat down at my desk and had a look around the room....my eyes landed on these wonderful and cute rub-ons from Stampin' Up.....now what to do....nothing fancy as the rub-ons are so darn cute all by themselves.....got out some white paper, cut it to card sizes and started to use the rub-ons....they go on so easy and are so nice to work with...I made a series of these cards so for the next day or so...I will be posting them to my blog.....what do you think?

The sun is finally shining here this morning, but the temps are below freezing....will spring ever arrive to out neck of the world....the yard work needs to be done...but it is so darn cold and the wind never stops......maybe this weekend it will get better....we shall see....

Well better be off to get ready for work!

A Wondering Mind!

This card was really quite fun to make...it is for a swap that I am in...although I do not do many swaps any more....I did want to join this one as I purchased this set from Stampin' Up and had not put ink to it....lol....story of my life these days.....I stamped the image on white card stock that I have purchased from MFT....colored it with Copic Markers....the paper I used was from the Basic Grey Line called Lime Rickey.....I love this paper, so bright and colorful....the rest of the card is pretty self explanatory....lol....

I am not sure why I find this image so amusing, I just do...teehee.....

Well today is not promising to be very nice, we woke to rain...we have not had much of a spring here of of yet...we had a rotten rotten winter and spring is not looking much better,...the long range forecast is calling for hot humid weather starting in June......hot I can handle....humid ussualy means rain....lol....

Well I best be getting off here to get ready for work....need to work to feed the stamping addiction....lol

Have a great day!
